Abstract

Kalimantan is a province in Indonesia which is located on the island of Kalimantan with Banjarmasin as its capital. South Kalimantan Province consists of 11 regencies and 2 cities, the majority of which are ethnic Banjar people. In matters of arts and culture, South Kalimanyan Province is very rich in regional arts and culture, one of which is the art of music. Traditional musical instruments are a cultural heritage that is owned by almost all regions in Indonesia. Currently, this priceless cultural heritage is starting to be abandoned, including that traditional musical instruments tend to be more ancient than modern musical instruments, so they have less of a place in the hearts of people, especially the younger generation. With the development of Augmented Reality technology, this problem is overcome because of the Augmented Reality application, which can display the 3D shape of traditional musical instruments without seeing the physical shape directly. This application uses the Waterfall method for application development so that many errors do not occur. Use this application by pointing the smartphone camera at the musical instrument markers, and it will display 3D objects of traditional South Kalimantan musical instruments according to the scanned marker. For further research, we can add animation effects to musical instrument objects when played so that the musical instrument can move according to the original.
